Slacking - Head unit finally in
Well, I've been really busy lately... even though I've had all the equipment for my audio system install for months.
Finally decided to toss in the head unit (Kenwood DDX812) at least. Install wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. Next is to finish up the sub enclosure I started forever ago, and find some time to start the other parts of the install.
A few pictures are here.

Engine Cover painted
It's taken a while, but the engine cover is on the car. I wanted all the original texture from the factory cover gone, so that took time to sand and fill. Few coats of paint and clear, some sanding, and some buffing, and it's done.

Scrolling LED License Plate Frame
Had this on my truck, and have one on my Grand Prix too (I sell them). Wanted to hide the wiring, so I ended up drilling a hole and adding a grommet. More information with the pictures.

VentureShield Paint Protection
Finally got my VentureShield paint protection kit for the Fit. Got the hood, rear view mirrors and front bumper kits. Will also be doing the headlight and fog kit also. Thanks Alan for helping me put the hood kit on today for the upcoming trip to Austin. If time allows, I will get the mirror pieces on before I head down there as well.
The bumper piece is going to be a bit more difficult for sure.... so I'll wait until I have a lot more time and Alan is around to help again (grin).

Progress Sway Bar installed
The 07-08 Fit doesn't have a very elaborate rear suspension. As a matter of fact, it doesn't even have a sway bar in the rear. Progress makes the only real option right now, and people seem to be quite happy with it. MPG-Motoring had a group buy on it, so I got in on the buy.
The bar arrived yesterday, so I popped it on this morning in about 35 minutes or so. Pictures are here. In the limited driving I've done with it so far, it definately seems to help.

Sub enclosure started
Well, since the headunit I plan on using isn't quite out yet, no rush on doing my system install. I do have all the other components I'll be using though. As such, I figured I'd start the sub enclosure since that's fairly time consuming and can be done as a stand alone project.
I am fairly specific in my needs, wants and requirements for a system. In this vehicle, the trick is keeping the back end fully usable. As such Here are pictures of Step 1 of the sub enclosure project.

Fit badge overlay
Well, since my car is already red, I decided to do the white reflective Fit overlay from MobileImage. Here are the pictures.

Tanabe GF210 Springs
Decided to put the springs on this morning. Took just over an hour. Woulda been a little quicker, but I popped the driver side axle out and had to get it back in place. Install was pretty straight forward overall. Here are some pictures

Tanabe Medalion Touring Exhaust
Ordered the Tanabe Medalion Touring Exhaust and the Tanabe GF210 Springs from a friends company, and they arrived today. Thanks Dave :)
Today I did the exhaust installation... Installation was a breeze, and only took me about 15 minutes including time to pull it into my shop and pull it back out. Really like the mild tone of the Touring exhaust over the others I've heard. I like something a bit more subtle.

Passenger Visor Mirror
Yes, and other Fit owners know... the US 07/08 Fit doesn't have a passenger visor mirror. There is a JDM visor available, but it costs ~$50. Way too much IMO. I didn't want a cheesy clip on visor mirror, so I went and hit the dollar store and found a 5x7 framed mirror. Took it apart and used a good gel glue to glue it to the visor. Voila! Oversized visor mirror, perfect for your significant other!
Air Horn install completed
The Air Horn install is now complete! 155db works great and definately gets attention when you need it over the factory horn! Pictures are here.

New graphics
Already got a lot of great comments on these. These are perfect for the Fit, Mini Cooper, Scion XA/XD, etc. What are they? "Actual Size" and "2/5 scale SUV". Take a look :) You can buy the "Actual Size" ones here.
Air Horn?
Yes... for those that don't know, I sell a very nice air horn. I removed the one I installed on my '06 GMC truck when I sold it, and had to figure a way to squeeze it on the Fit :)I think I finally have it figured out... I am using a 3000psi paintball tank which I will regulate to 120-150psi for the horn. Believe it or not, I can get quite a few good blasts out of this setup in a small amount of space.I've already mounted the air horn, and have a plan in place for the tank. I'll post an update...

Got my HFP Wheels
Just got back from the dealer... they installed the HFP wheels that I negotiated into the car price. I basically got them for $870, wheels and tires. Pretty good deal for the '08 wheels since they have the tire pressure monitor sensors, etc.
The really good news? The dealer wrapped up the factory wheels & tires and gave them to me too! Pictures are here.

Tinted
03/29/2008: Called an old pal Alan who is a great tinter I've used for probably 15 years. He actually came over to the house Saturday morning and hooked me up. I like to stay legal, and also like my side tint to match front/back. Therefore, I went with 35% tint on the sides, and 20% on the rear glass. Looks good, and will help a lot in the Texas summers. Pictures are here.
Custom Intake intalled
03/28/2008: Decided it wasn't worth buying one of the intake kits out there. Just not worth the cost. I went the DIY route. I could have done it cheaper if I waited and ordered the parts, but I picked up all the parts at Autozone. Total cost was about $70 w/ tax etc.
Definately adds a bit of power in the lower gears, as well as sound in the higher RPM's. Here are my pictures.
