Tire time

Well, I haven't been great about rotating my tires on a timely basis... so it was time for front tires.  Problem with a 205/45/16 is availability.  Ended up going with the Kumho Ecsta ASX's again.  2 of them transfered in from Houston to my local Discount Tire connection.  Arrived in 1 day!  Got them installed today at 28,300 miles.  These now come with a 30K mileage warranty, so at least I won't be paying much for the next set

Cerbond installed

Car has been great and no new modifications over the past year, thus no posts

My company NovoWorks is now a certified Cerbond installer and yesterday (at 26,100 miles) we treated the Fit with the engine and air conditioning treatments.

The engine is already noticably smoother, especially at higher speeds.  Power delivery comes on quicker as well.  As for the A/C, we saw a 9 degree temperature drop immediately after treatment!  The increase in engine efficiently is quite nice, and emissions have been reduced quite a bit (not that it was terrible before).

Next on the list is to do the transmission/differential, which I will do in the coming weeks.  I leave today for our next 24 Hours of Lemons race down at MSR Houston.

Time for new tires

Well, my alignment is more off then I thought... so front tires wore quicker then expected.  Also finally wore the backs, so time to replace all 4.

Went with BFGoodrich g-Force Sports this time around.  So far so good... got a great deal from my hookup at Discount Tire.  Current mileage?  12,150

New Tires?

As I've stated before... the car can really handle.  Well, the Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport tires that came with the HFP wheels wear quick on this little car.   I typically rotate my tires about every 4000-6000 miles.  However, it looks like I'm going to need to do it about every 2000-3000 miles!

I have not yet rotated the tires, and a good look at the front tires showed almost no tread pattern (other then the primary pattern) left.  The back tires still look quite fresh... so I ordered some new Kuhmo Ecsta ASX's for the front (same tires I've used on other vehicles with good results).

So... with 6620 miles, I have new front tires already.  The Kuhmo's have a 420AA rating, which is a bit better then the 340AA of the Potenza's.  I'll rotate more often from now on... and we'll see how well the Kuhmo's wear.

Picked up some wood today

Well, I am building a new work table for the production room at work.  As such, I figured I needed about 14 8' 2x4's in order to build them.  I headed up to Home Depot, bought the 8 casters I needed, as well as 14 8' 2x4's.

Everything fit just perfect! Here are the pictures.

Hardwired Radar Detector

Not sure why it took me this long... but anyhow:  Finally hardwired my radar detector into the fuse box.  Just tapped the radio power, so the detector is only on w/ accessory power.  Much cleaner then having the lighter cord, etc.  Tucked all the wiring under the headliner, etc.  A few pictures are here.

Took a few beauty shots of the car after I did the springs.  Here they are.

2nd Tank

I drove a bit more agressive this tank, and it shows.  Also used the AC more.  This tank I went 261.9 miles on 9.1 gallons.  Works out to 28.7 MPG.  95% city, so still respectable.

New floor mats and Door sill protectors

Just received my order and installed the Honda Fit floor mats, and the Fit door sill protectors.  Nice quality and adds a nice touch to the car.  Here are the pictures.

First tank

Finally put gas in the car this morning.  Put in 9.54 gallons ($3.24/gal) and had 287.2 miles on the car.  Works out to a first tank of 30.1 MPG.  Not a bad start :)   Quite a bit better then the 13mpg or so I used to get in the 06 GMC Sierra, or the 17mpg I get in the supercharged Grand Prix (which also takes super).

Another good day

Did 68.7 miles today of mixed city/hwy driving.  Car definately does better at lower speeds mileage wise, which of course I wasn't doing on the highway.  ScanGauge II showed 32.6 mpg average today.

Tomorrow I'm dropping the Fit off at the dealer for them to do a few minor things, including putting the HFP wheel/tire package on the car.

First few days

The Fit has proven to be a fun little car, and even though I'm not yet really trying and it's brand new... it's doing pretty good on mileage. I have a ScanGauge II installed, and here is the info from it so far.Day 1: 36 city miles (running around, shopping, etc). 29.9 MPGDay 2: 35 city miles (similar to day 1). 30.2 MPGDay 3 (today): 41.7 miles, all city (church, shopping, etc). 31.3 MPGNot even at 1/2 a tank yet and have about 150 miles on her. Calibration of the SG-II will be a bit better after...

Got the Fit!

03/27/2008: Bought the Fit!Been looking on/off for a new vehicle to use as a daily commuter (when not using one of the motorcycles). Really wanted to get something reliable, with good gas mileage, and that had good usable storage and interior space (especially since I sold both trucks).Looked into quite a few vehicles, but really narrowed it down to the Honda Fit Sport. The next decision was just whether to get a manual or an automatic. The manual gets a bit better city mileage, feels a bit more...
